Drawing Viewer
(Included with Foundation)

In the Information Age, we are overwhelmed by raw data. But with the Foundation Drawing Viewer, you always have the BIG PICTURE.

Near the top of most Facilities Manager's wish list would be an easy way to view all types of CAD floor plans showing current occupant data. An integral part of Foundation, the Drawing Viewer allows you to view and print or plot all types of CAD drawings including AutoCAD and Microstation without using the CAD programs.

With the Viewer, your drawings are linked real-time to the database.

Over the master CAD drawings, you can automatically fill the rooms with a colored hatch pattern according to variables such as department, division, organization, vacancy, accommodation, and move-in or move-out dates.

Also, text showing up to twenty-five variables such as occupant's name, phone number, department, accommodation, or room area can be displayed and plotted with or without the hatch. Additionally, the program clculates the room areas on the drawings and displays it and sends it back to the database for reporting purposes. Your work stays on your computer, while the archive master CAD files remain unchanged on the corporate network.

Current CAD programs use sophisticated  technology to create detailed drawings, but lets face it -- CAD programs are complicated. As a Facilities Manager, it may not always be easy for you to convey to other professionals your thoughts and ideas about future construction plans or moves. Even if you are fully proficient at using the CAD program, often the drawings may not contain current or even accurate data that is necessary for future planning. With the viewer you can sketch and make notes on the drawings.

Foundation's Drawing Viewer is your wish come true.

Floor Plan with Merged Data.

Big Picture Plans Include:
  • Large three foot by six-foot rent plans of the entire site colored by department, division or organization and showing the occupants' names and data. The automatically generated legend makes it simple to see departmental contiguity and vacant space for expansion.

  • Hatching done by user-specified parameters. A series of plans can be generated showing a particular department's spaces together with the vacant areas around that department. Plans can be issued to the department heads so that they can cooperate to consolidate their work areas.

  • Drawings with the employees names and department numbers which can be easily used to field verify the accuracy of the database.

  • Floor plans with the phone numbers printed out -- invaluable for telecomm.

When there's construction or relocation, and you're using Foundation, there's no need to start over as is the case of other facilities management programs. In seconds, with only three commands, the room numbers on the drawing are attached to the database and a report is generated showing discrepancies. Rooms on the drawing can then be created automatically in the database.
And finally, with one command, the drawing viewer calculates the area of each room and sends it over to the database.

If you are pressed for time, one command will batch run the functions mentioned above. With Foundation, you can associate dozens of drawings of over a million square feet with databases containing thousands of people while attending a meeting or going to lunch.

Perhaps you manage a large number of sites using different CAD programs; not a problem for Foundation. The Drawing Viewer can even batch process a mixed list of AutoCAD and Microstation drawings.

Whether you use it every day or once in awhile, Foundation and the Drawing Viewer is always intuitive and easy to use.
